Email acts or looks odd after changing to the new Gmail layout

Solution

If you are having trouble scrolling up and down in your email after changing to Gmail's new layout, do the following steps:

First, make sure you are running version 8 or later of Internet Explorer....from within the Internet Explorer program (open a webpage somewhere), press ALT key and the H key (ALT-H) on your keyboard, and then click "About Internet Explorer."

If you have any version number less than version 8, then go here http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/internet-explorer/downloads/ie. You'll see an orange FREE Download Button. UNCHECK the box underneith this button ( I would also like Bing and MSN defaults), and then click the free download button to begin downloading the newest version. Follow the onscreen prompts to run the program and reboot your computer when prompted.

Once you have either confirmed that you are on version 8 of Internet Explorer, or you have followed the above steps to upgrade it, then log back into and check your email. If it still doesn't "look right"...then perform the following step:

From within Internet Explorer, click "Tools" and then on the menu that drops down, click "Compatibility view Settings." This will open a new window. Near the bottom of this new window, there are three checkboxes. Uncheck ALL of them, and then click "close."

Close your Internet Explorer and then try your email again. It should be fixed now.
