BASC-2 Assist will not run on Windows 7 computer

Solution

When trying to run the BASC-2 assessment on a Windows 7 machine, you get an error saying "No valid Java Virtual machine found" (or similiar message referencing Java Virtual Machine. Perform the following steps to correct this issue:

 

Click Start, then Computer.

Double click the "C" drive.

Double click Program Files.

Double click AGS.

Double click BASC-2 and PRQ Assist

Double click Java JRE

You should see one file in this folder. Double click it to start the Java Virtual Machine setup program. Follow the prompts clicking "yes" or "next" or "finish" as necessary in order to complete the installation. After installation finishes, click "Yes" to reboot your computer.

The BASC-2 Assist software should now work on your Windows 7 computer.
