Audio files not playing in levelled reader materials

Solution

To fix this issue, close your Internet Explorer or other internet browser (chrome, firefox, etc). Look for the desktop shortcut to Adobe Reader.

In the toolbar (top of the Adobe window after you open it), go to Edit and then select Preferences.

Click the Security (Enhanced) category on the left.

In the section on the right, at the top, clear the check box for Enable Protected Mode at Startup.

Click OK.

Exit Adobe Reader.

Try to access the media again.

NOTE: On some versions of Adobe Acrobat Reader, the instructions and screens may look a bit different. If you do not see the options above, then try this:

Open Adobe Reader on your computer.

In the toolbar, go to Edit and then select Preferences.

Click the General category on the left.

In the section on the right, at the bottom, clear the check box for Enable Protected Mode at Startup.

Click OK.

Exit Adobe Reader.

Try to access the media again.
